Meditation, mindfulness and mindful movement retreat
at Claridge House, Surrey
Friday April 22nd - Sunday April 24th 2022
"Join us for this life changing, transformative experience. Feel recharged, refreshed, more centred & take home tips to support you in every day life"
Your weekend retreat
Truly take time out for yourself away from daily distractions with our meditation retreat.
Reconnect with yourself and feel recharged, refreshed, more grounded, more centered having touched into that part of yourself that is always peaceful, that is unshaken by external circumstances.
This weekend is full board and all of our retreat bedrooms in Claridge House are ensuite. Our retreat centre is in a rural countryside setting between the villages of Lingfield & Dormansland, with Surrey's rolling hills and lush greenery nearby.
During the weekend together we will be exploring a wide range of meditation & mindfulness techniques and sessions will also include breathing practices / pranayama (movement of prana or vital energy) which can help you to quieten your mind as well as support your meditation practise. The weekend will also include mindful movement with slow hatha yoga / chair yoga suitable for all, and evening sessions of relaxing guided meditations including iRest yoga nidra.
We will be sitting on chairs or on cushions on the floor, and lying down for the guided meditations, whatever you prefer.
There will be plenty of free time too, where you can relax in the house, take a walk in
the large peaceful private gardens or nearby countryside, dive into a good book
from the library, or just be!
This retreat is suitable whether you are new to meditation and / or mindfulness or experienced meditators / practitioners, and this time will give you the opportunity to try out and explore new practices and / or deepen your existing practise and knowledge in the company of like minded and supportive people. You will be guided throughout by Simon Hoten and there will be plenty of time to chat about the practices shared and ask questions.
This will be a small retreat and you are welcome to arrive from 3.15pm on Friday and we finish at 2pm on Sunday after lunch.
All of the practices / sessions will be taught by Simon Hoten, who has been practising and studying meditation since 2003.

Lingfield Village & around
Within walking distance of our retreat centre (1.2 miles / 1.93km), is the ancient village of Lingfield, surrounded by beautiful Surrey countryside. Known to be in existence at the time of the Domesday book, it was documented in the will of King Alfred "the Great", circa 871AD. Within this charming village (photos below) you will find many fine examples of medieval and Tudor houses as well as 18th century buildings.
Further on is the village of Crowhurst ( 3.5 miles / 5.63 km) where in a small churchyard grows the famous Yew Tree with a girth of 10.01 metres, thought to be at least 1500 years old. The trunk is hollow with a wooden door in it that was placed there in 1820 and is very much linked with history having had what was believed to be an English Civil War cannonball discovered in it's side during the 19th century.
Less than 10 minutes walk away from Claridge House is the village of Dormansland where you will find many beautiful walking routes, along with a post office, small shop and pubs.
