The power of curiosity

Updated: Apr 5

Greetings from the enchanting island of Zakynthos,

I am feeling very fortunate to be here, leading a group of beautiful souls on a week long yoga retreat. Following our morning yoga practise outside on the shaded yoga deck, I am sitting writing this, surrounded by olive trees, apricot, pear and lemon trees, listening to bird song, with the clear, crystal turquoise waters of the Ionian sea in the distance.

Following a very sunny start to the retreat, it is cloudy temporarily today and I have been reflecting on the transformative power of staying curious whatever the weather (literally and metaphorically speaking) and how curiosity can continue to enrich and elevate our lives.

When we invite this curiosity into our yoga practise, with its rich tapestry of postures/ asanas, breathwork, meditation, mudras (and so much more) it becomes a vessel through which our curiosity can flourish, guiding us towards profound insights and a greater understanding of ourselves.

Beyond the confines of our yoga mats, curiosity can permeate every facet of our lives. It invites us to explore the world around us, to seek knowledge, to embrace new experiences, and to forge meaningful connections. It nurtures a sense of wonder and awe for the miracles that unfold each day, finding joy in the simple things, and developing a profound appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, I invite you to pause with me in this moment and (if you are not already doing so) invite more curiosity into your life, allowing it to unlock the door to a more vibrant, fulfilling, and awakened life.

We will be touching on this further when I am back teaching the West Hampstead yoga in person classes and online.
